More than a decade of competition
The Perfect Poll began in 2010 as a college football pick’em game shared among family and friends. The concept was simple: choose the winners, rank every game by confidence, and see who could navigate an entire season better than everyone else.
Confidence points made every decision matter. Picking the correct team was only part of the challenge. Players also had to decide which games they trusted most, where they were willing to take a risk, and how their strategy might need to change as the standings tightened.
Over the years, the game grew through spreadsheets, weekly write-ups, new formats, league traditions, and countless adjustments. Eventually, it became clear that The Perfect Poll deserved a platform built specifically for the experience that had developed around it.
Why “The Perfect Poll”?
Most games like this are called pick’em pools. The word Poll was intentional.
College football has always been shaped by rankings, opinions, and arguments over which teams deserve to rise or fall. The original game was connected to the Coaches Poll before later shifting to the AP Poll as the foundation for selecting and ranking weekly matchups.
The name became both a play on words and a larger idea: what would the perfect college football poll actually look like?
As The Perfect Poll evolves, additional polls, computer rankings, and power ratings can become part of that vision—creating a broader view of the sport while helping determine which matchups deserve the spotlight each week.
Every pick carries weight
The Perfect Poll is not only about choosing winners. Players assign one unique confidence value to every matchup, forcing them to balance certainty, risk, and league strategy throughout the week.
A major upset can reshape the standings. A low-confidence win can protect a lead. A bold pick with a high confidence value can help someone climb—or send them tumbling. Two players can select the same teams and still finish with very different scores.

The platform is being shaped by years of real gameplay and direct feedback from the people who have competed in it—not by trying to imitate every other pick’em site.
